Re: SAFETY: SURGERY! Reasons needed for avoiding gallbladder removal?

My fatherinlaw will be having his gallbladder removed this Friday, May 20. While I feel for Elizabeth E. LaBozetta, it seems as all her information is 10 years old.
There have been great advances in this surgery. My father also had his gallbladder removed during a "gastrointestinal -boliobipas". While he has the noticeable side effects, constant diarea and isvery pungent, this is due to his neglect in taking all his medicines. This is not a surgery that you can simply forget about afterwards, there is constant maintainence and new advances that is your responsibility to make sure you stay ahead of, not just you doctors. You must be proactive. While my fatherinlaw has heart problems, we are very concerned because we do not have all the information as to why he needs this surgery.
Good luck but keep on top of this, this is not the time to make rush desisions as to have or not have the surgery. You have already gotten behind the eightball waiting this long to ask questions. Most doctors know best but I would nothave such a surgery unless I understood fully all the side effects and all the posibilities/concerns with the surgery.
