Re: My Healing Journey from Stage 3C Adrenal Exhaustion

believe I am stage 1...I am revved up all the time, small details are now overwhelming...I have no idea where to start this is my story...
I was extremely lean athlete- I am 5'6" and weighed 107lbs as of 1.5years ago. I have been tiny my whole life but was cut for about 5 years exercising 4-5 times a week and eating a well balanced diet (never counting calories just eating whole foods with the occasional cheat meal.) I would say for at least a year before my body crash I was over training...doing 4hours of weights 5-6 days a week, running, mountain biking, kettle bell, kick boxing and kayaking in my spare time with an active job. I became obsessed with working out and my body started breaking down but I was too "motivated" to slow down and listen.

In August 2011 I saw a nutritionist about bloating issues and she put me on an Elimination Diet that removed dairy, soy, gluten, eggs, my protein shakes, all supplements and some fruits and veggies at once. Within a week I gained 10lbs and started breaking out, having night sweats, leg pains, mood swings, anxiety. I repeatedly asked the nutritionist what was happening but she said I was detoxing. Within a month I had gained 20lbs and was severely depressed. As time went on I lost my menses (it returned after 14months) I ended up weighing 150lbs (which was everywhere on my body but mainly lower back, hips, butt and thighs.) I now have hypothyroid which I take desiccated thyroid for, I have high cortisol and low testo and progesterone. I use to sweat like a man, now I dont. I use to sleep well, now I wake up at 2 and toss the rest of the night.

I have managed to drop 12lbs but it has been hell. I tried time off, I tried more cardio less food, I tried high reps low weight, high weight low reps. I did cardio 2xs a day, I tried no cardio.

I now am just eating whole foods anywhere from 1500 calories to 2000. I eat good fats and no processed junk. I all grains- my carb sources are mainly fibrous veggies with 1 serving of berries a day and sweet potatoe. I lift heavy 4-5days week but only if I am well rested. I do sprints once a week. I dont feel tired but my hormones are out of whack, I break out all the time and always am uptight.

I would love some guidance as I dont want this to turn in to stage 2-3!!!
