Water Therapy

The cold water "GUSH"

As a trial I tried the very old Swiss method of the ice water flush doen the barefoot way! After the body is very hot, the use of HIGH PRESSURE 50 degree water pretty well paints the picture and as I read about it from the 1600's as well with the theory of Dr. John R. Christopher's idea of jumping in the ice cold creek, it does in deed force your lungs to take in huge breathes of air and excite your voice as you scream back to your source of hot water. Ya talk about circulation, hot then cold will do the trick. I am sure I can build a huge web site on the water therapy room alone, it will take along time to document all the differant methods you can aid your body's circulation.

The boys see it all as fun and I believe my boys have the cleanest skin of any school student! NO, they did not like the idea of the cold water GUSH, but will be up to a run in the snow when it gets on the ground to stay. The rule with the water therapy room is to walk to the house with your wet swimming trunks on and sandles ONLY, no shirt, etc. and we have had a few nights below freezing and even little TREVOR age 2 thinks it is a BLAST!

Once educated, a person can take a long hot bathe and then spend about an hour or son in below freezing weather in shorts ONLY, no shoes even and lay down on pure ice or in near freezing creeks that turn your skin BRIGHT RED, but it takes a little will power and wisdom to know when to quit. So it is very risky to play in the ice cold with out a helper that can recognise you may not be able to make it back home... The key is to never stop, as long as you keep the blood pumping fast, you can take allot of cold, but let your self cool off for even a minute and it is all over, you can freeze in minutes. I have allot of cool pictures from some years ago that I thought I put on a CD to save and even made a file or 2, but I have not been able to find them in the stacks of cds. I was once able to allow a ice sheet to form on my arm and had Brenda take a picture, but it has been some years ago and I have lost track of the pictures! I know of some Amish that cut holes in the ponds and jump in naked; now that would be a picture!!!! Just boys seeing how tuff they are I guess, the water therapy room has it all inside now so it can be done in complete safety.
